Captain Dan Buckley Sr.

Capt. Dan Buckley Sr.  
Affectionately known as "the Chief," Capt. Dan Sr. is always there to lend a helping hand and advice.

As a young man, Capt. Dan Sr. served in the United States Navy from February 1965 until May 1969. After training, he reported for duty as a Boatswain Mate and his job was to drive ships. His favorite memory from this time period was when he arrived in Hawaii in Christmas of 1965.  It was his first time overseas and part of the 7th Fleet- the biggest fleet in the Navy!  He proudly served aboard the USS Ranger Aircraft Carrier, which saw action in the Gulf of Tonkin, during the Vietnam War.  He also did a tour aboard the USS America Aircraft Carrier, & was stationed at the McMurdo Station in Antartica. 
He is Capt. Dan Jr.'s right hand man and a valuable asset as a former Charter Boat Captain/Co-owner of the vessel, 
​Nancy Ann II out of Orient Point, NY.  He has been an integral part of readying the ORIENT STAR V for service during the off season.  

This Captain & Mates' greatest accomplishment is his three sons.  Each son is a Captain out of Orient Point, NY, in their own right. In his retirement, he is carrying out his most important role of all- he is now mentoring his grandchildren as they begin their odysseys aboard various Sportfishing Charter Boats out of the North Fork.  Thank you,
